Cookie Policy & Preferences
Last updated August 25, 2026This page explains the cookies and browser storage used by LatestAlerts. Essential storage is used only for functions such as security, session handling and recording your privacy choice. Optional storage is not required for ordinary public reading.
Current first-party storage
| Name | Purpose/category | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| la_consent and latestalerts:consent | Records privacy choices, the time of the choice and the policy version — Essential | Up to 12 months or until changed or cleared |
| latestalerts:theme and related display/accessibility keys | Remembers display choices — Preferences | Session when optional preferences are rejected; persistent only when the relevant preference is allowed |
| WordPress authentication cookies | Used only for an authenticated WordPress or enabled reader-account session — Essential when signed in | Session or the selected remembered-session period |
Optional reader preferences
Where Save, Follow, Show less, continuation, language or audio-position controls are offered, the site may use first-party browser keys for those explicit choices.
Browser notifications
If browser notifications are offered and you explicitly enable them, the browser may store an ownership proof and bounded notification settings needed for that service.
Advertising
Google AdSense is not currently approved or live on LatestAlerts. Google advertising cookies or identifiers are therefore not part of the current LatestAlerts cookie inventory. If advertising is enabled later, this policy will be updated before that storage is treated as active.
Analytics
Optional analytics cookies or identifiers are described as active only when the corresponding analytics service is actually enabled on the public site.
