Advertising & Sponsored Content Policy

Google AdSense and other display advertising are not currently live on LatestAlerts. This policy explains the standards we will apply if advertising or sponsored content is enabled.

Placement

Advertising will be clearly labelled and visually distinct from independent reporting. Ads will not be placed over navigation, audio controls, privacy controls or core reading actions.

Targeting

We will prefer contextual placement based on the page or category. Behavioural advertising or ad-personalisation technology will not be described as active unless it has actually been enabled and the applicable reader choice has been implemented.

Editorial separation

Sponsors do not receive approval rights over independent coverage or corrections. Paid material and material commercial relationships are identified.
